It's easy to set up bench environment to run MIB unit outside a vehicle. There are some limitations to it, but still it makes research much more convenient and faster if MIB is available outside the car.

Basic setup

Hardware

  • MIB main unit,
  • MIB display unit,
  • Power source (12V DC, min. 3A) for main unit and display unit,
  • QuadLock connector, terminals, wires,
  • 12-pin connector for the display unit,
  • 4-pin HSD LVDS cable to connect main unit with display unit.

Extended setup

In addition to the basic list of elements:

  • loudspeaker,
  • ignition on emulator,
  • USB port,
  • gateway with OBD2 diagnostic port,
  • 2x USB-to-RS232 TTL converter,
  • SD cards and USB drives.
