It's easy to set up bench environment to run MIB unit outside a vehicle. There are some limitations to it, but still it makes research much more convenient and faster if MIB is available outside the car.
Basic setup
Hardware
- MIB main unit,
- MIB display unit,
- Power source (12V DC, min. 3A) for main unit and display unit,
- QuadLock connector, terminals, wires,
- 12-pin connector for the display unit,
- 4-pin HSD LVDS cable to connect main unit with display unit.

In addition to the basic list of elements:
- loudspeaker,
- ignition on emulator,
- USB port,
- gateway with OBD2 diagnostic port,
- 2x USB-to-RS232 TTL converter,
- SD cards and USB drives.
